Competition for Architecture Design - Design Description
The CMI, located in the historical center of Ho Chi Minh City, is a private hospital that donates its profit to cure poor kids.
The design main intention for the renovation and extension of the CMI was to create a design strongly related to its surrounding with a focus on three elements: First the Cathedral, then the existing colonial villa and finally the neighbour property
As a result of this dialogue between the project and its urban context, the new construction appears as totally integrated and as an element that comes to complete the identity of the existing urban space.
Being integrated, the project has also its own identity with a poetic architectural expression of its reason for being with a specific focus on childhood.
